Sounds like you are storing CDS that is diluted in water to less than 3000ppm.

There are many factors that can affect the chlorine dioxide gas (CLO2) concentration in CDS over time. A temperature below 50F (10C) is taken care of by storing CDS in a fridge.

How much air space at the top of the storage bottle is another. The more air in the bottle, the faster the reduction in CLO2 ppm. It is best to store CDS in small bottles such as 120ml or smaller. Then use up one bottle before opening another.

The bottle to cap seal needs to gas tight. If the seal is silicone, know that CLO2 will slowly pass though the silicone and escape from the bottle.

CDS can be made in three hours time, so there is normally no need to make large quantities of it.

Just found this online:

"CDS (Andreas Kalcker) Pure CIO₂ obtained by bubbling or gas washing - a laboratory technique used for decades. Milder than MMS, pure, but unstable over time, lengthy preparation, expires quickly."
